New York is a very walkable city. With a great public transit system.
Day 1
- World Trade Centre (tallest skyscraper in the western hemisphere)
- 9/11 Memorial
- Jump on the Staten Island Ferry and you can get a view of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty
- Wall St and the Stock Exchange (don’t forget a visit to the Bull Statue)
- If you are feeling up to it, you could walk down Fifth Avenue
Day 2
- Stroll through Central Park
- Empire State Building
- Times Square (Daylight)
- Toys R Us (there is a Ferris wheel you can ride on)
- If you love M&M’s, a visit to the m&m store is needed
- Times Square (Night)
Day 3
- Rockefeller Center
- Chrysler Building (tallest Brick Building in the World)
- Grand Central Terminal
- New York Public Library
- Madame Tussauds (very touristy thing to do)
- Smoke Jazz Club (2751 Broadway)
Day 4
For all the shopping addicts out there you need to get to Woodbury Common, all your favourite designers discounted. You would need a whole day for this. (or check out Nordstrom Rack for discounted designer items)
Drinks at the Top of The Standard – anything you order there is amazing.
Day 5
- Museum of Modern Art (MoMa)
- Another walk through Central Park and a visit to the Central Park Zoo
- Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET)
- Tour of Madison Square Garden (MSG, home of the New York Knicks)
Food Places not to be missed
- Katz Deli (pastrami Sandwich)
- Juniors (near times square)
- Bricklane (for those that can stand the heat, try the Phaal curry)
- The Standard Hotel is simply amazing
- Carlos Bakery (get the Cannoli)
