Day 1

Arrive in Nairobi, Kenya. Depending on what time you arrive, you may want to stay overnight in Nairobi before you head to the Masai Mara.

We stayed at the Eka Hotel as our flight landed at 9 pm.

Day 2

An early morning flight to the Masai Mara from Wilson-Olare airport. If you are booking with a safari company, transfers should be included.

Once you arrive in the Masai Mara, you are greeted by Maasai warriors who will drive you to your safari camp. We stayed at Porini Lion camp in the heart of the Masai Mara. They are many camps to choose from. Most camps include meals and game drives as part of the accommodation cost. Enjoy lunch at the camp and then head out for an afternoon game drive, followed by a sundowner and a night time game drive on the way back to Camp.

Day 3

An early start to the day to watch the sunrise, then game drives with wildlife viewing opportunities in Olare Motorogi Masai Mara Conservancy. Enjoy breakfast in the bush. Porini camp guides can drive off-road, getting you closer to the wildlife. Sunset sundowner at a scenic spot, dinner, and then a night time game drive is included.

Day 4

Breakfast and then transfer to Il Keliani Safari camp.

After lunch, head out for an afternoon Game drives in Masai Mara Reserve with your guide from Il Keliani Safari camp.

Day 5

Head out for a full day of Game drives in Masai Mara.

Day 6

Breakfast and then wildlife viewing on the way to the airstrip.

Flight to Nairobi

Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage for a special 5 pm entry time.

Note: this entry time is only open to those who have adopted a baby elephant. The baby must be adopted in advance and 5 pm entry must be arranged with Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage.

Day 7

There are plenty of great things to see and do in and around Nairobi. We had a spare day before a late night flight, so we hired a driver to take us around and see as much as we could in 8 hours.

If you are looking for some gifts and gorgeous jewellery to take home, head to Kazuri Beads in Karen. You can take a tour of the working factory then head to the gift centre to buy up some beads.

Next, head to the Giraffe Centre. Here you can get up close with the 7 residents. Standing on a raised rotunda, you get almost to eye level with these beautiful animals and have the opportunity to hand feed and even take a selfie with a Giraffe.

If you have time, head to the city centre and take a look at the local architecture and immerse yourself in the hustle and bustle of Nairobi. There are plenty of things to see and do and if you are feeling up to it, try some local food. You will not be disappointed.
