Located in Uganda overlooking Kyaninga Lake and Rwenzori Mountains, come here if you want to relax and explore this magnificent part of Africa in true luxury. The Teslik’s had the pleasure of staying at Kyaninga Lodge and truly adored it. The whole property is raised on wooden platforms and all built by hand.
Featuring nine exclusive and very spacious cottages all made from hand carved logs and each with their own en-suite and a private deck looking out at the striking beautiful lake. The staff are incredibly welcoming and very attentive.
The bed is fitted with the most luxurious of linens and feather pillows making it feel warm and cosy. Each bathroom features its own claw footed freestanding bath. There is access to hot water with their very sophisticated modern solar power set up and of course this means you can always charge your gadgets.
The main lodge is where you will find lounge and dining. Their daily menus use local ingredients from nearby markets and many ingredients are from Kyaninga’s own kitchen garden. The lounge features a beautiful open fire allowing you to relax with a lovely drink in hand and reminisce about the day. There are books to read and views to admire.
During the day, you may find yourself out on the terrace admiring the view of the mirror like lake. You could not be further away from all the hustle and bustle that your normal life holds. Intermittent access to the internet is available in the lounge area, allowing you to be the envy of your friends and families as you share your stories and photos of your adventures.
The grounds themselves sit on the edge of an impressive crater lake. No matter which turn you take as you leave the grounds, an adventure awaits. The staff are happy to take you for a guided walk around the crater, allow approx. 2 hours for this. You can take a swim in the lake or grab a canoe and explore the water nice and dry.
Getting to this lodge is not the shortest of trips, but by golly it is well worth every hour spent in the truck. You simply cannot fault this lodge and we would not hesitate to stay here again.
