Mountain Gorilla King of the Castle

We had the joy of visiting these critically endangered Mountain Gorillas in Uganda in Aug 2017.

It took 6 hours of trekking to find this family, but it was well worth the effort.

The little ones had a great time roughhousing and playing on their fathers back.

Even 6 hours of trekking through the jungle sounds good – we love to hike.

Were you worried you wouldn’t spot any gorillas?

6 hours of trekking is a lot, but these gorillas are certainly worth the trek! It’s so cool that you got to see them and be so close to them! The little ones are so cute!

So cute, aren’t they? 6 hours of trekking in tropical rainforests sound strenuous but I’d do it to catch a glimpse of these cute babies and their antics!

What a lovely video. This is indeed an experience of a lifetime. Had visited from Rwanda side and had an awesome experience a couple of years back. It is indeed an experience to cherish for a lifetime.

The little gorillas seem to be enjoying! 6 hours of trek looks totally worth for this. Did you happen to see any signs of habitat loss in the area due to deforestation or mining?

No we didn’t. We were in the National Park which is protected.

Oh my gosh, the baby gorillas are adorable. What an amazing experience that must have been for you. I’d love to do something like that, but I’m not sure I would be able to handle a 6 hour trek.
